Finding Joy…

Last week I talked about removing toxicity from your life and the steps that can be taken to achieve your goals of finding peace, positivity and joy.

So, let’s talk about joy.

What is it?

What does it mean to you?

How do you find it?

Is it right in front of you and you missed it?

Joy comes in many forms and can be found in the smallest of moments in your everyday life. It’s learning to recognize these moments that will lead to greater moments and before you know it, your life is full. Joy comes in many forms and is all around us. These are the things I do on a regular basis to help me find joy, see the positives and feel at peace.

Each morning, I practice gratitude. I sit with my cup of coffee and reflect on the things I’m grateful for and focus on positive aspects of life. It’s important to keep those negative thoughts from clouding your mind.

I meditate. I cannot stress enough how important this is. It helps to keep me focused and centered, especially in times of stress. It helps me problem solve and find solutions to life’s challenges. It keeps me sane.  Meditation helps me become more present in the moment.

What makes you happy? Take time to figure that out and then do it! It can be as simple as lunch with a friend, a phone call with a loved one, pursuing a hobby, volunteering, or soaking up nature. Whatever it is, figure it out and do it. You deserve it!!

Acknowledge and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small. Don’t dwell on the past or worry about the future. Embrace the present moment. Life is happening here and now, and finding joy often begins by appreciating what you have in the moment.
