My favorite time of year begins with the first day of fall and runs through New Year’s Day. It’s the start of cool nights and cozy sweaters, leaves changing colors and sitting by the fire pit. I get to decorate for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s and put-up hundreds and hundreds of lights! I absolutely love it. The house is so much more festive and I especially love the look of all the twinkling lights at night!
Each year, I begin a new holiday notebook to keep track of the many things I do to celebrate these holidays. So last year, I decided to write a holiday journal that includes all our family traditions, my yearly checklists, holiday recipes and personal anecdotes to act as a guidebook to share with my children. Oh, and in case you’re wondering, yes, it does include a complete list of Hallmark’s Countdown to Christmas! It’s important, for me, that they understand that it’s about the experiences, the traditions and the bonding of family. It’s a time to reflect on the year that has passed and to look forward to what’s ahead and to be grateful and thankful for what we have.
What are your family traditions? What is most important to you? What are you most thankful for? I would love to hear your stories!
As we begin to prepare for Thanksgiving, I am including a Thanksgiving Checklist that can be used to help you get organized as you plan for guests or plan to travel to see loved ones. Enjoy!!
Love your home at Christmas! 💗👍🎄
