Last Days of Summer

Happy Tuesday!

I can’t believe it’s August 31st and the summer is almost over. My last post was at the beginning of the month and since then, I took a small step back from writing and posting because I wanted to take time to enjoy these last few days with my kids before they left for college. My husband and I are now officially empty nesters. It should have happened last year, but I’m grateful for the extra time I had with them. I got to enjoy them as adults. We made some great memories and we laughed a lot!!

I thought I would share a few pictures as a photo journal of our last month together as a family.

We had a weekend getaway in Bristol, Newport and Cape Cod! It was wonderful and relaxing. The mansions in Newport are breathtaking, the views are spectacular and the history and stories are fascinating!!

We were in the van heading down to Wildwood for our family vacation! Wildwood is one of my favorite places. I love the retro, nostalgic feel of the entire area.

Family Vacation – Wildwood!!

We had a lot of fun exploring and sightseeing in Wildwood and Cape May. We went to the farmers market, ate at some great seafood restaurants, went to the lighthouse in Cape May on National Lighthouse Day and of course had to get frozen custard!

Enjoying the boardwalk, sightseeing and a frozen pineapple!!

The girls went parasailing! They loved it!! We got to watch them from the beach! By the way, if you haven’t been to the beach in Wildwood, you need to go. The sand is so soft, it feels like baby powder. You have to experience it at least once in your lifetime.

A few days after we got back from our vacation, we celebrated Nick’s 21st birthday! My Mom joined us for the celebration. It was a great day!!

Nick requested that we each come up with a signature drink for him, so here’s what we made for him. We all had fun playing bartender!!

Now the packing begins for college. Can you imagine what it’s like to have 3 kids packing for college? This represents only one room of our house. It was absolute chaos!!

No one was getting out the front door that day!!

Finally, all 3 in their dorm rooms. Unfortunately due to COVID protocols, I wasn’t able to help them set up their rooms. But as you can see from their smiles, they didn’t care. They were just happy to be on campus.

Happy faces!!

Until next week! xoxo
