I still need to pinch myself every morning because I can’t believe that I’m a published author! If someone had asked me a few short years ago if this was possible, I would have said, “No. It’s just a dream of mine.” But this dream has became a reality.
It all started with a Women In Publishing (WIP) Conference I attended in 2021. I know that I’ve mentioned this before, but I’ll continue to give a big shout out to Alexa and her team. They helped me realize that publishing a book did not just have to be an item on my bucket list but could in fact, become a reality. I learned so much and gained the confidence I needed to move forward with my writing projects.
I recently attended the webinar Self-Publishing 101, presented by Alexa and it further reassured me that I am on the right path and made the right decision to self-publish. At first, I was nervous about choosing self-publishing but once I went through the process, I found that it wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be. Once again, a huge shout out to Toby for helping me with all of this!!
Through WIP, I have met so many amazing women. I’m especially grateful to my tribe of women who have been so supportive and have provided encouragement when needed the most. Thank you, Toby, Wendy, Kathryn, Marilynn, Leslie, Merle, Rhonda P, Rhonda F, Judy, Leoma, Eddye and the :55 group!! I am honored to know you and call you, my friends.
I’m excited to begin my second act as a writer! My first love will always be music, but as I get older and know that at some point my fingers won’t move as fast as I’d like them to, I will always have another way to express myself.
What’s on your bucket list? How can you make the impossible, possible? What will be your second act?
